My Thoughts:

To be honest, when I first starting reading this story, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was afraid it was going to turn into just a run-of-the-mill story in a genre of like stories and that it wouldn't stand out among them. Boy, was I wrong! This was a pretty amazing story with characters that are at once real and different and I was caught from the start and held fast the whole way through.

Let's start with Riker. He is a to-die-for type of hero and I just loved reading everything about him. The way he performed his duties and then took care of Nicole - I would love to have someone like that take care of me! And Nicole was a woman to admire who wouldn't let herself be pushed around by anyone - a perfect foil for Riker. And all of the side characters were amazing and interesting in their own rights. I can't wait to read more about them.

This is a series I'm so glad I started and will definitely be waiting for the next installment with bated breath!
