PHANTASM FRIDAY

CARIBBEAN GIVEAWAY!!

Howdy, Moonlight, Lace & Mayhem readers! I think I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was going on vacation. My husband and I took our two sons on a Caribbean cruise. Wouldn’t it have been fun if all the MLM readers and bloggers could have gone too! We traveled to Grand Cayman Islands, Honduras, Belize and Mexico. So, beginning today and continuing the next three weeks, I’m throwing a CARIBBEAN GIVEAWAY! Everything I’m giving away came from one of our Caribbean stops.

All you have to do to be entered to win is leave me a comment, something as simple as “Boo!”, “Yo!”, “Hey, Mon!” OR take a stab at answering the TRIVIA QUESTION posted below and you’ll be entered to win that week’s Caribbean giveaway! Best of luck! This week’s winner will receive 1) a handmade Mahogany Belize bookmark and 2) a ceramic plaque of Ixchel, who was the jaguar goddess of medicine and midwifery in the Maya culture and was referred to as the “the goddess of making children”. (Photo of both are at the end of today’s blog). To learn more about the goddess, Ixchel, visit Wikipedia.

Now, strap in and get ready to take a virtual trip of the first two days of our Cruise…

Miami from the ship.

The top of the ship, where my sons spent many hours dividing their time between the waterslide and eating ice cream cones.

My husband and I at the front of the ship before sailing.

Miami Marina directly across the street from the Port of Miami.

This was a beautiful sight to me and would make a beautiful postcard!

Our ship leaving port.

Sunset at Sea!

Isn't it beautiful?!?

Me the first formal night on ship.

BOTH personal photos posted against my will! My husband thought I should post them to keep my blog personal. Am I the only person that hates photos of myself? *grumbles...grumbles*

Belize Bookmark and Ixchel Plaque winner will receive!

DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE ME A COMMENT TO BE ENTERED TO WIN THIS WEEK'S CARIBBEAN GIVEAWAY!! A WINNER WILL BE DRAWN NEXT FRIDAY, JUNE 18th.

Next week, I'll start talking about each stop and will post pictures. First up is George Town, Grand Cayman Islands. A very beautiful, clean, safe and mega rich Island.

TRIVIA QUESTION: Does anyone know what three things the Grand Cayman Islands is known for? If not, come back next week and I'll tell you!

I'll have to do some reseach on Ixchel...maybe it will be my hubby and I good luck.

I do not like my picture taken either. Great photos. Looking forward to seeing more.

BTW, thanks for hosting me the beginning of the week.

What was that. Boo? Yo? Hey?

What great pictures. Sounds a wonderful trip. I should post some pics from our trip to San Antonio - perhaps when my husband gets back with the camera.

Meanwhile, I'll look forward to learning what the Grand Cayman's are known for.

Hey Gracen lady :)
It looks like you're having a teriffic trip.
I'm guessing the trivia answers are:
1.Excellent coral reef diving and snorkeling.

2.An absense of taxes etc. makes it one of the worlds largest off-shore financial centers.

3. Sting Ray City, up close encounters with sting rays.

How about #4? RUM!
Enjoy your trip,

Mindy :)

Hey, Amber! It was a pleasure having you with us at MLM this week. Sorry, I wasn’t here to post it, but even though I read your interview late, I still enjoyed reading it!

As for picture taking, by the time the trip was over, my two boys and I were ready to toss my husband AND his camera overboard! I’ve never smiled so much for a camera in my life! And he took photos of me in my bathing suit when I didn’t know it!!! That man should sleep with one eye open!! LOL Seriously, WHAT was he thinking? Thankfully, I don’t have to share those.

Hey, Sheila! Congrats, by the way, on your children graduating college! I know you're terribly proud of them. And you should definitely post some pictures of your trip to San Antonio. I’d love to see them and I’m sure others would too!

Hi, Mindy! Our trip was a blast, not much relaxation, but still enjoyable and relaxing in the enjoyable way at least. And I always enjoy spending time with my three boys. Boys know how to cut up and not care about appearances. That can either be a good thing or at times a bad thing. ;-)

Speaking of rum, we bought their famous Rum Cake! I wish I could share it with all of you because if you’ve never tried it, you should!

As for the trivia answer, Mindy, you’re close, very close…a hint…the tour guide called it the 3 B’s the Grand Caymans are known for.

Thanks for the comments and best of luck to all of you!

Looks like you had a fabulous vacation! Paradise? Aloha, Rebecca Leigh

Hi, Rebecca! My idea of paradise would be a deserted island with servants tending to our every whim! LOL Never going to happen, so the cruise was as close to paradise as I could get.

Oooohhh, that waterslide looks FUN!!

My cousin works in Belize, and our church used to donate books to a school down there. Couldn't afford to send any of mine, lol!

Keep the pictures coming! I've never left the continent!
