Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Everyone!

I'm sure many of you have plans this weekend, but for those of you who who don't, or would just like to share, please tell us some of the stories and memories of Memorial Day celebrations you may have!

I'll add my story in the comments section later tonight!

I England we have Remembrance Sunday, everybody wares Poppies which for years were made by injured soldiers and were sold in there millions to support the veterans.

Since being in the US it is always a trip to the town to watch the remembrance parade.

Thanks for sharing with us Barry!

For us, we always tried to get together with family because well, both of my uncles were peace-time soldiers (both tours ended before Vietnam started, thankfully or I might never have met them).

Plus, my grandparents lived during WWI and my mother (their second child) was born just before WWII started, so there were always stories to be told.

In case you've noticed the word "tried," and didn't think it odd, here's the whole story.

Every year, there would be a nice forecast with warm sunny weather and we would plan a big party at either my uncle's house or one of my aunt's to go swimming and such. Then, it would never fail, Memorial Day Monday would arrive and bring with it colder, cloudier weather and rain (even though the weather men always said differently).

Even now as I write this, on the colder side, somewhat cloudy and windy. Even too windy for disc golf....

Have a great day!

Carrie
